Article Submissions

Thank you for your interest in submitting an article to the OULS. Below are the guidelines and terms and conditions relating to the submission of material for publication.

 

Submission Guidelines

 
Ideal articles are between 500-1,500 well-written words, are relevant to the study of law or the legal world as a whole and are likely to be of interest to a wide audience. Shorter articles, which adequately cover the subject matter, are considered. 
 
Submissions may be rejected by our editors for the following reasons:
 
Article comes across as spam (marketing or self-promotion) or contain inappropriate material
Subject matter is not relevant to the OULS
Article has previously published or is a repeat, is riddled with spelling/grammatical/formatting mistakes, or is otherwise deemed inappropriate
The Editors reserve the right to reject any other submissions where they feel it is in the best interests of the OULS. 
 

Terms and Conditions

By submitting your article:
 
You declare that you are the sole owner and author of the article and own 100% of all copyrights pertaining to the article or have permission from the owner or author to submit the article to the OULS 
You are giving permission to the OULS to publish your article on our website and in our newsletter. 
You are giving permission to the OULS to promote your article via social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. 
You agree to the minor alteration of your article by the Editors when deemed necessary by the news team, such as the correction of spelling or grammatical errors, in order to ensure an adequate standard of writing in our publications. The Editor will indicate that alterations have been made the foot of your published article
You reserve the right to withdraw your article prior to publication by giving adequate written notice
You reserve the right to withdraw your article from our website only, post publication
